Assessment in Mathematics

Assessment is a key component in the learning and teaching process in Mathematics at St James the Apostle Primary School.

We believe that assessment and data should drive learning and teaching programs by targeting our learning experiences on the specific needs of students. Assessment is seen as an ongoing process that occurs at every stage of the learning cycle and allows students to maximise learning opportunities and to deepen understanding.

At St James the Apostle Primary School, we undertake the following assessments in Mathematics:

  • ENRP / CTLM Interviews
  • SINE testing
  • NAPLAN
  • PAT-Maths
  • Westwood 1 minute Basic Facts assessments
  • Essential Assessment
  • As well as a range of observations and work samples
