Celebrating Confirmation (2024)

Final year learners in the Senior Learning Community celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Learners in the final year of primary school across the parish will be prepared to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation. If your child is Roman Catholic, they will celebrate the sacrament. More information about this process is explained in the Sacramental Preparation Policy. This is an important celebration in the faith life of your child and our parish. Please take note of the following opportunities to support your child in their preparation for this sacrament. Dates and venues may change depending on circumstances. You will receive confirmed information closer to each event.

Important Dates

Family Faith Workshop

Date: Tuesday 23 April

Time: 6pm

Venue: Online (Google Meet)

For: Final year Senior Learning Community members & families

All final year learners in the Senior Learning Community, along with at least one adult, are expected to attend.

Immersion Day

Date: TBC

Time: All day

Venue: St James the Apostle School

Presentation Masses

Dates: 18/19 May, 25/26 May

Times: Saturday – 6:00pm; Sunday – 8:30am, 10:30am, 5:00pm

All learners celebrating Confirmation are expected to attend one Mass across the two weekends.

Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation

Reflection Day

Confirmation Information Form

Learners celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation are required to provide personal information to the parish, per Canon Law.

The form can be completed online, with information shared with the parish after the celebration.

Confirmation packs will be distributed to Roman Catholic learners once the form is completed. Learners of other faiths will automatically receive their pack a couple of weeks before the celebration.

Photography

Professional photography may be available for the celebration.

Stole embroidery

Learners receive a stole as part of the education levy. There is no need to print on or emroider the stole, however it is an option.
