Celebrating Confirmation (2022)

Learners in Year 6 celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Learners in Year 6 across the parish will be prepared to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation. If your child is Roman Catholic, they will celebrate the sacrament. More information about this process is explained in the Sacramental Preparation Policy. This is an important celebration in the faith life of your child and our parish. Please take note of the following opportunities to support your child in their preparation for this sacrament. Dates and venues may change depending on circumstances. You will receive confirmed information closer to each event.


Immersion Day

For: Learners
Where: St James the Apostle School
Date: TBC [Final details provided in 2022]

This is a reflection and preparation day. Learners celebrate the Sacrament of Penance as part of the day and will be visited by the Bishop.

Confirmation Family Workshop

For: Parents and learners
Where: Online
Date: Tuesday 26 April
Time: 7:00 – 8:00pm

All learners and at least one parent are expected to attend.

Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation

For: Parents and learners
Where: St James the Apostle Church
Date: Friday 3 June
Time: 7:00pm

All learners are expected to attend.

Information Form

Roman Catholic candidates are required to complete an information form. These details will be passed on to the parish to facilitate their record keeping processes.

Candidates must be logged into their school Google account to access the form.


COVID-19 Requirements

Our liturgical celebrations are organised in accordance with the COVID-19 Guidelines approved by Most Rev Peter A Comensoli, Archbishop of Melbourne (as at 11 March 2022):

  • Fitted face masks are not compulsory, but are highly recommended, especially with the lower number of children under 12 who have been vaccinated.
  • QR code check-in is not required.
  • There are no limits on participants or density requirements at Places of Worship.
  • There will not be any vaccination requirements nor any requirement for organisers to check vaccination status for attendees at Places of Worship.

Stole embroidery

Learners receive a stole as part of the education levy. There is no need to print on or emroider the stole, however it is an option.
