St James Feast Day

On Friday, our school community  went back to the 80s! Students, families and staff came together to celebrate the Feast Day of our patron saint, St James. It was a wonderful day filled with faith and fun!

We began the day with Mass, giving thanks for the life and example of St James. Students participated reverently, and it was heartwarming to see everyone gathered in prayer and reflection. Our school choir led by Mosese enhanced the liturgy with their angelic voices. Fr Jude also went back to the 80s after mass and grew some hair!

We dressed up as eighties clothing it was very fun seeing all the different outfits from different people. We had mass with Father Jude hosted the mass and we saw all different clothing. Father Jude had some hair on it was very funny after the Mass we had a shared morning tea where some families came in and had some food with there kids then we had some activities in our class, like drawing ourselves dressed up for eighties. Then we had the DISCO. The disco was very fun and we had some students who got to sing! Which was very cool.

After Mass, we enjoyed a shared morning tea—a lovely time for families and students to share a meal together.

At the start of the day we got in and we dressed up in 80s outfits. Our first activity for Middle Verde was a teacher quiz. That day in the school near the end of the day there was a disco. It was so fun, I loved it but I don't want to do it again unless there's food. Before that we did a morning tea with our family it looked fun but my parents couldn't come because they were at work. It was a pretty fun day though.

The excitement continued with Bop Till You Drop, where students danced, laughed, and let their joy shine. The energy was contagious, and the dance floor was packed with happy faces and enthusiastic moves!

Students also  joined their learning communities for St James Day activities, where they took part in a range of fun and creative tasks while learning all about the life of our patron St James

It was a truly special day that reminded us of the importance of community. Thank you to everyone who helped make St James Day such a meaningful and memorable celebration!
