We were so excited when the firefighters came back to our school for their second Fire Ed visit! We got to remember all the important safety messages they taught us last time and learn some new ones too.
During the session we: Revised the Firefighter First Visit concepts and showed the firefighters what we had remembered. Talked about our Safe Meeting Place Worksheets and why it’s important to have a safe place to meet our family in an emergency. We learned what to do if our clothes ever catch fire – Stop, Drop, Cover, and Roll! Got to explore the fire truck, which was one of our favourite parts! We had so much fun, and we now know even more about how to keep ourselves and our families safe. A big thank you to the firefighters for teaching us and letting us see all their special equipment.
My favourite part was seeing all of the hoses. They can put out bad fires, even if they are far away because the hoses are so long! I have never seen a fire truck so close before, it was exciting! I loved the fire truck, it was so big!
I loved seeing how much the learners remembered from the first Fire Ed session and how proud they were to share their ideas. The firefighters made the presentation so engaging, and the visit to the fire truck was definitely a highlight. It was wonderful to see the learners not only building their safety knowledge but also growing in confidence about what to do in an emergency.
