On Monday 26th October, the Middle Learning Community excitedly (and perhaps with a few nervous butterflies!) hopped onto the buses and headed to Baptist Wilkin Camping in Anglesea for our first camp together!
After being warmly welcomed by the camp staff and enjoying our lunch, we jumped straight into two action-packed days of adventure, teamwork and challenging ourselves to step outside our comfort zones.
We participated in an incredible range of activities, including the Flying Fox, Orienteering, Archery, the Leap of Faith, Wall Climbing and a Low Ropes Course. There were plenty of opportunities to be brave, encourage one another, build resilience and discover just how much we could achieve when we gave things a go. We had so much fun!
On Monday evening, we headed out on a night walk, where we were lucky enough to spot some of Australia’s wonderful wildlife, including possums and kangaroos with their adorable little joeys. What a special experience!
After a delicious dinner of schnitzel and vegetables, followed by ice cream for dessert, we headed off to our cabins. The excitement of climbing into our bunk beds, setting up our sleeping spaces and chatting with our friends made for a memorable first night. Let’s just say there may have been a few sleepy faces the following morning!
We were up bright and early on Tuesday, ready to finish our final activities before heading back to St James. We returned with full bellies, very tired bodies and hearts full of wonderful memories.
Our first Middle Learning Community camp was an absolute success! We are so proud of the way our students challenged themselves, supported their peers and embraced every opportunity. A huge thank you to all the Middle Learning Community staff for making this experience so special for our students.
What an adventure! We have made memories that will last a lifetime!
