On Tuesday our school community came together to celebrate our annual St James Feast Day with a wonderful day of faith, learning and community.
We began the day with a whole-school Mass, celebrated by Fr Jude, where we were joined by our parish school communities, as well as many of our families and parishioners. Our Grade 5 and 6 students led the Mass beautifully, helping us reflect on the life of St James the Apostle and the example of faith and service that he continues to provide for our community.
Throughout the day, students took part in a range of activities that celebrated the story and spirit of St James. Our Senior students participated in a Camino-inspired walk through the local neighbourhood, taking time to reflect on the journey of pilgrimage and the importance of walking together in faith. Across the school, students also completed a variety of St James-themed learning activities in their classrooms.
A highlight of the day was welcoming Dean from Dance Curriculum, who worked with every year level to teach a different dance. The day finished with a whole-school performance in the hall, where each class shared what they had learned with their families. The hall was full of energy as students, staff and families came together to celebrate, with plenty of smiles, applause and encouragement throughout the afternoon.
Our Feast Day is always a special opportunity to pause and celebrate what it means to be part of the St James community. It was a day that brought together faith, learning and plenty of fun, and it was wonderful to see so many families join us throughout the day. Thank you to everyone who helped make the celebration such a memorable one.
