The St James school community gathered together in faith and joy this week to mark the official beginning of the school year with a beautiful Opening Mass. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to pause, come together as a whole school, and invite God into our journey for the year ahead.
Celebrated by Father Jude, the liturgy set a tone of optimism and community spirit. A highlight of the gathering was a special moment of prayer where Fr Jude invited all staff and students to receive a blessing. It was a touching reminder that at St James’, we do not walk alone—we are supported by our faith and by one another.
With hearts full of hope and touched by grace, we are ready to embrace the opportunities of the school year. Thank you to everyone who helped prepare the music, readings, and altar for this meaningful celebration.
We would also like to recognize a special milestone within our staff. This liturgy was the very first mass prepared and coordinated by Simon Devlin, our new Religious Education Leader. We extend our gratitude to Simon for his thoughtful planning and dedication. His efforts ensured the celebration was seamless, spiritually enriching, and a wonderful introduction to his leadership in our faith community.
With hearts full of hope, we are ready to embrace the opportunities of the school year.
We look forward to a fantastic year ahead!
